DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN DAR ES SALAAM – SGR TRAIN TO MOROGORO TRANSFER TO MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK

Upon arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR), you will be met by your safari guide and transferred to the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) Station for your scenic train journey to Morogoro. Upon arrival in Morogoro, meet your safari driver-guide and continue by road to Mikumi National Park, a journey of approximately 2 hours. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Uluguru Mountains and rural Tanzania along the way. Arrive at your lodge which is outside the park, few minutes from the main gate in the late afternoon, check in, and relax before dinner at the hotel.

DAY 2 : MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK

Mikumi National Park is a Tanzania’s fourth largest national park. The open horizons and abundant wildlife draw frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti plains, but its location close to Tanzania’s largest city makes Mikumi easier accessible. The park has a great variety of animals: elephants, buffalos, zebras and giraffes are relatively easy to spot, as well as lions mating and many hippos in the resident hippo pool. DAY 3: FULLDAY GAME DRIVE IN MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park, one of Tanzania’s most accessible wildlife destinations. The park is home to a remarkable variety of wildlife including: Elephants, Lions, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Zebras, Wildebeests, Hippos, Crocodiles Numerous bird species, enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site within the park before continuing your afternoon wildlife viewing. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at Camp/Hotel

DAY 4:FROM LODGE TO RUAHA NATIONAL PARK.

After morning breakfast, you will drive to Ruaha national park. Ruaha National Park is the third largest national park in Tanzania. It lies along the Great Ruaha River, is known for its large elephant population, and is a true paradise for birdwatchers with over 570 species. Besides, you might catch a glimpse of lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, crocodiles, elands, sable antelopes, jackals, or the rare African wild dog. Game drives are special, as you drive through an untouched ecosystem in this relatively quiet but stunning park. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 5: RUAHA NATIONAL PARK.

After morning breakfast, you will continue with the game drive in Ruaha national park. Ruaha National Park is the third largest national park in Tanzania. DAY 6: FULLDAY WILDLIFE EXPLORATION AT RUAHA

Spend another exciting day exploring different sections of Ruaha National Park. The Great Ruaha River attracts abundant wildlife throughout the year, making it an excellent location for predator sightings and exceptional photography. Your experienced guide will lead you through areas known for spectacular wildlife encounters. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel

DAY 7: GAME DRIVE & SUNDOWNER EXPERIENCE IN RUAHA NATIONAL PARK

Enjoy a leisurely morning game drive searching for wildlife missed during previous safaris. After lunch and some relaxation at the lodge, embark on an afternoon game drive ending with a scenic African sundowner overlooking the breathtaking Ruaha wilderness. Watch the African sunset while enjoying refreshments before returning to camp for dinner and overnight stay at the Lodge/hotel

DAY 8: OPTIONAL WALKING SAFARI & AFTERNOON GAME DRIVE

This morning offers an optional guided walking safari (subject to lodge arrangements), providing another unique perspective of the African bush. After lunch, enjoy your final afternoon game drive in search of Ruaha’s magnificent wildlife and landscapes. Return to camp for a farewell dinner under the African stars

DAY 9: FROM RUAHA NATIONAL PARK– RETURN TO LODGE AT MIKUMI

After an early breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in Ruaha, offering another opportunity to spot predators and other wildlife along the Great Ruaha River while on your journey back to Mikumi National Park, arriving in the evening. Check in at your lodge which is outside the park but few minutes from the main gate, enjoy dinner, and relax after the day’s adventure. at stay at at Camp.

DAY 10: TRANSFER FROM MIKUMI TO SELOUS (NYERERE NATIONAL PARK)

In the early morning, you will have a delicious breakfast then you will be transferred to Nyerere National Park. After a road transfer, you will arrive in the late evening at your lodge for dinner.

The Selous offers a wide range of habitats to explore from grassland savannah to floodplains, and miombo woodland and is home to a multitude of plains game, large elephant herds, lion prides and African wild dogs. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 11: FULL-DAY SAFARI IN NYERERE NATIONAL PARK (FORMERLY SELOUS GAME RESERVE)

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive in the magnificent Nyerere National Park. Explore one of Africa’s largest protected wilderness areas, renowned for its diverse landscapes, vast savannahs, woodlands, river systems, and abundant wildlife. Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to spot a wide variety of animals, including elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species. Between safari activities, return to the lodge to relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings and breathtaking views overlooking the Rufiji River. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel/Lodge

DAY 12: FULL-DAY GAME DRIVE IN NYERERE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, depart with packed lunches for a full-day game drive through the diverse landscapes of Nyerere National Park. Explore open plains, miombo woodlands, lakes, and river systems while searching for African elephants, Lions, Leopards, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Zebras, Wildebeests African wild dogs (one of the best places in Africa to see them)  Numerous antelope species. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing your afternoon wildlife exploration. Later in the evening you will drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at at the hotel/Lodge

DAY 13: FULL DAY BOAT SAFARI IN NYERERE NATIONAL PARK

A boat safari on the Rufiji River in Nyerere National Park is both relaxing and adventurous! The boat takes you over the river and to nearby lakes, allowing you to spot many animals that come to the water’s edge. Very common are giraffes, impalas, waterbucks, kudus and warthogs. Sometimes, also bathing elephants or crocodiles can be seen, and always, the many bird species sound their voices. The trip includes a picnic lunch on the shores of one of the lakes, Dinner and overnight stay at the Lodge/hotel.

DAY 14: DRIVE TO DAR ES SALAAM DEPARTURE

After breakfast, you will depart from your lodge and drive to Dar es Salaam, where you will be transferred to Julius Nyerere International Airport for your international flight home. As your unforgettable Tanzania safari comes to an end, we hope you leave with wonderful memories of its breathtaking landscapes, remarkable wildlife, and warm hospitality. If you would like to extend your holiday, you may choose to relax on one of Tanzania’s idyllic islands, such as Zanzibar, where you can enjoy pristine white-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and a perfect end to your African adventure.
